Gladiolas in the Window

Nancy Brannaman White Oak Photos on Etsy.com and White Oak Photos

It was a sunny day in Amsterdam, following a spring shower. The sun came out and shone brightly on this window scene. This apartment owner does need bars to keep someone from take the beautiful bouquet of gladiolas. Contemplate sitting on the windowsill looking out on the streets of Amsterdam, as the bicyclists pass by and as the boats go under the bridges in the many canals. Enjoy the sunshine!

Expanding My Photo Business -- Browse My Shop

Nancy Brannaman http://www.WhiteOakPhotos.com/

I love photography and capturing great images, and I love sharing my images with you. I have just opened a new shop at: http://www.WhiteOakPhotos.etsy.com/.

I've started by offering bright, colorful, contemplative, peaceful, beautiful images of flowers and scenes from the Amsterdam Flower Market. For instance, this image of tulips on a street cafe windowsill calls you to get away for a moment. In your thoughts, enjoy a leisurely coffee and the local cuisine. Watch the people go by on the street, and contemplate the beauty of the flowers.

Check out my shop today!

Since I'm new to on-line marketing, I look forward to hearing your feedback and advice. You can send an e-mail from my Etsy.com shop or from WhiteOakPhotos.com.

In Loving Memory of Mom -- Rosemary Sourwine Barickman

Our mother, Rosemary Sourwine Barickman, passed away in late December. My dad, my sisters, and Mom's friends and relatives miss her very much.

It's not easy raising four daughters, but Mom did this very well. She also supported my hardworking farmer father on the home front, too. Mom did a lot of volunteer work at our schools and led after school activities such as Camp Fire Girls. Mom made beautiful pottery, and her pots, bowls and vases are great momentos now. She collected dolls for us, small boxes, and shells, too. Mom did a lot of art with shells which brought her great pleasure. She loved playing bridge, cooking and reading.

Mom had a great, positive influence on her family and her friends. We miss you very much, Mom! We know you are at peace with the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior in heaven. Rest well!

Love,

Nancy

The Florida Flywheelers Show

We visited the Florida Flywheelers show in mid-January and had a really good time. The show is a great place to spend the day (on a golf cart because the grounds are huge) looking at antique tractors and cars. There's an antique village and several working steam engines. Twice a day you can watch a parade of the old cars and tractors. Along the way we stopped in Ft. Meade so I could photograph the beautiful old live oak trees filled with Spanish moss. Here is one of my photos from the day and you can see more on my web site -- just follow the link.

Farming in the 50's

Dear family and friends,

I am just learning how to write a blog, so bear with me. I have attached two old photos from my father. Dad gave me the negatives to scan a few months ago and I spent some time cleaning up the images. One photo is of my father and his father shoveling snow in our private lane that leads to the two old farm houses on the farm south of Grand Ridge, Illinois. The other photo is my dad, his cousin, and my grandfather making hay.

I just posted some photos of antique tractors and cars taken at the Florida Flywheelers show near Ft. Meade, FL. In the photo gallery are some photos of the live oak trees filled with Spanish moss, too.

Enjoy!

A Trip Down Memory Lane -- Ukraine

Our foreign adventures started in April 1992 when we were selected to jointly work as Co-Managers for the U.S./Ukraine Agribusiness Center in Kakhovka, Kherson Region, Ukraine. I have been slowly scanning old negatives and I recently worked on some photos from Kakhovka. They bring back fond memories! Here is a photo of baggage handling ala Aeroflot early '90's.
